Spring Flag Football

Hampshire Township Park District is proudly a part of the NFL Flag Football Program. Players will receive officially licensed NFL gear. This league is considered recreational and is a wonderful introduction to America’s favorite sport. Running and passing plays are allowed, although there are no-running play zones in place to emphasize safety. The defensive team covers receivers, rushes the passer (blitz) and grabs flags to conclude the play. Play in moderate rain, sleet or snow (exception- lightning). No dogs allowed at the park while park district programs are in session. Games will be played against Hampshire and Huntley teams within the same age group. Age groups may be combined if program numbers are low.

Head Coaches are needed at all levels.

Practice
Practices will be held once a week for one hour beginning the week of March 17th. Practice times are determined by volunteer head coaches. Times and practice days will vary and any conflicts should be made known during your registration.

Games
Most games will be held on Saturdays with a chance of some weekday games in place of a practice. Games will begin on 4/12 depending on teams and other Park Districts. Times will be after 1pm, so players can participate in Soccer and Football. The season will conclude on or before June 7th. Schedules will be made available as soon as possible, but may not be posted before the first or second practice.

Requests
Coach requests will be taken, but with a priority of team balancing the request is not guaranteed. A single friend request between two participants and preferred practice day will be considered, but not guaranteed. There will be no guarantees that a friend request that involves 2 or more players will be granted.
